Overview

Support high school and college students with biology, chemistry, and AP science coursework.

EduQuencher is urgently seeking a knowledgeable Science Tutor specialising in Biology and Chemistry to support high school and early college students. You will help learners build a solid conceptual foundation and develop strong problem-solving skills across life and physical sciences.

This hybrid role serves students in the Texas region and online. The ideal candidate is comfortable switching between in-person and virtual sessions and has a track record of helping students succeed in AP or college-level science courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related STEM field
  • Minimum 2 years of tutoring or teaching experience in Biology or Chemistry
  • Solid knowledge of AP Biology and AP Chemistry curricula
  • Ability to explain complex concepts clearly using analogies and visual aids
  • Comfortable conducting both in-person (Texas) and online sessions
  • Reliable transportation for local student meetings (Texas candidates)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in a biological or chemical science
  • Prior AP exam preparation coaching with measurable score improvements
  • Experience with lab report writing and scientific method instruction
  • Familiarity with MCAT preparation for pre-med students

Responsibilities

  • Tutor students in Biology and Chemistry at the high school and introductory college level
  • Break down difficult topics (cell biology, stoichiometry, organic chemistry) into digestible lessons
  • Help students understand and apply the scientific method to problem sets and lab questions
  • Prepare students for AP exams, midterms, and finals with targeted review sessions
  • Assign and review practice problems, past exam papers, and lab exercises
  • Communicate student progress to parents and maintain detailed session records
